About

The Senior LIFT Center, Inc. is a totally volunteer run and managed non-profit organization that provides recreational, social and educational activities for active seniors aged 50 and older. The Center has been described by many members as providing them with a ‘lifeline’ and given them a new meaning to life.

The LIFT in our name means Living, Involvement, Fulfillment, Togetherness. Although Luca Viteri, grandson of member Alan Robinson, says it really means “Life is fun together!”

Our current weekly activities include chair yoga, hula, stability, line dancing, tap dancing, a drama group, painting, drawing, crafts, healthy living, pool, sing-along, mah-jong, canasta, bridge, poker, bunko, rummikub, hand and foot, ecology, computer classes, a writing group, Spanish classes, English classes, strength training, plus other classes as suggested by our members.

The Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. About once a month we organize a luncheon or dinner group, and throughout the year we offer external cultural activities, by giving our members an affordable way to attend lunch-theater functions, local plays, take short-term or longer-term trips and to visit various other local and statewide events. We often provide luncheon seminars with speakers who address different topics of interest to our seniors.

Our 200+ membership consists of people of diverse backgrounds and talents. Our activities are taught and directed by knowledgeable volunteers. Our members have been very generous with their time and expertise when and where needed. We are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our members and strive to provide them with the best and current aids and technology to satisfy their minds and bodies.

The LIFT has been in operation since 1988, run by over 100 volunteers, a 100% volunteer board and officers who give of their time and talent.

We provide a safe and energetic place to meet new friends and greet old friends every day.
